Allyson Felix
Allyson Melissa Felix was born in Los Angeles, California on November 18, 1985. Her father Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley, and their mother Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix was an athlete of the highest level and developed a passion for sprinting during her time at Los Angeles Baptist High School. After her first audition and placing within the top two places at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships, for 200 meters in a mere 10 weeks. Felix, who graduated high school in 2003, signed the sports contract with Adidas. After that, she attended the University of Southern California and completed her studies in elementary education. One year later Felix won her first Olympic medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens Greece making an all-time junior world record running 200 meters at 22.18 seconds. She was the youngest participant in the 200 meter at the World Championships that took place in Helsinki in the year 2005. She won her medal once again in 2007, beating her time-tested Jamaican competitor Veronica Campbell. Felix always placed in the top three in all of her events in Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
